Every year over 43 million vehicles cross this cantilever bridge which connects downtown Montreal with Parc Jean-Drapeau and the south shore. Construction on the bridge, which is the traditional starting point for the Montreal Marathon, began in 1925 and it opened to traffic in 1930.
