Bed and Breakfast and Auberges

There is a fine selection of bed and breakfast accommodations throughout the Montreal area. This type of accommodation is becoming increasingly popular. They range from simply furnished rooms with no private facilities to designer rooms and suites that are the epitome of comfort and elegance. Bed and Breakfasts are a great way of meeting local people who will gladly share information and tips about the area with their guests. What they lack in privacy they make up for in charm and intimacy. Bed and Breakfast is also often a cheaper alternative to hotels of a similar standard.

Montreal and Quebec also feature another type of accommodation – Auberges; Quebec is the only part of North America to have these. The Auberge is a cross between a bed and breakfast and a small hotel. It offers the intimacy of the bed and breakfast but the facilities and advantages of a larger establishment too. In fact in Montreal some Auberges also use Bed and Breakfast in their title. The Auberge will be a novel and economical place to stay.
