Club Med is offering Montrealers the chance to beat the winter blues with thoughts of warm weather or perfect powder conditions as the premier all-inclusive resort sets up a pop-up experience in front of St. James Church (463 Saint Catherine Street W.) on February 16 and 17.
Known for their 65+ all-inclusive sun and ski resorts worldwide, Club Med will transport bystanders to their perfect winter getaway. Guests can step into the sun pop-up, decked out as one of Club Med's beach resorts, complete with sand, palm trees and tropical fruits, while being treated to the renowned hospitality of Club Med’s famous team of G.O.s (Gracious Organizers). Snow-lovers on the other hand, can experience Club Med's ski offerings in the French Alps in the ski themed pop-up.
To help visitors truly escape, Virtual Reality goggles will transport users to their desired vacation. Sun-seekers can explore the exotic settings of the Club Med resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico-- helping them feel what it is like to be their best self (to discover their “Amazing You”) while having the opportunity to take part in exciting activities like the flying trapeze or sailing; all the while those who embrace the winter can experience the thrills of skiing in the French Alps at one of Club Med’s majestic mountain resorts. To make sure everyone stays extra toasty, G.O.s will be handing out hot cocoa and Club Med branded handwarmers to passersby.
In addition to experiences and giveaways, Club Med wants to make dreams a reality for a lucky guest. Visitors will have the opportunity to post pictures from their visit to the pop-up on social media using #ClubMedAmazingMontreal for the chance to win a trip for two to one of Club Med’s sunny destinations. Montreal en Arts is the largest open air gallery east of Toronto.The event features over 200 artists showing their artwork amid animation and sidewalk cafés. The festival has been known to draw up to 350,000 visitors.
More than 250 artists take part in this highly anticipated annual celebration of creativity. Showcasing both professional and emerging artists, the festival takes place along BoulevArt (Ste. Catherine Street, between St. Hubert and Papineau).
During the night, 45 artists create 45 frescoes on the asphalt of Mont-Royal Avenue, between Saint-Hubert and Garnier. An art sale is also part of this annual event, with kiosks set up along the avenue.
Montreal's biennial will celebrate emerging Canadian artists and established International artists from around the globe. Conferences, cinema, workshops, exhibitions and music performances are offered.
