Through its global Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS campaign, UNICEF is preventing the transmission of HIV from mother to child, providing paediatric treatment, protecting orphaned and vulnerable children and preventing HIV-infection among adolescents and young people.

                        Since 1961, fans have been flocking to this exciting auto race at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve located in Parc Jean Drapeau. Part of the Formula One World Championship, this race is the third most watched sporting event in the world. The sporting event was named after Quebec native Gilles Villeneuve, who was killed in a race in 1982.

                              Montreal International Jazz Festival

                              Certainly at the top in world Jazz Festivals, this annual event brings the sounds of jazz to the streets of Montreal every summer. The festival brings in some of the world's greatest jazz performers as well as other renowned artists, and draws crowds of up to 2,000,000. Over 300 of the 400 shows are free and festivities and performances are held at many different venues. The line-up for 2007 included performances by Holly Cole, Pink Martini, Joshua Redman, The Bill Frisell Trio, Branford Marsalis, George Thorogood & The Destroyers and Buddy Guy.
