The World Partnership Walk is Canada’s largest national event to fight global poverty. It takes place in nine cities across the country and is organized almost entirely by volunteers. Last year was the Walk's 25th anniversary and it attracted the support of more than 70,000 people, including more than 35,000 participants on Walk day, raising over $6.5 million. Among them were more than 750 corporate and community teams.

All of the funds – 100% – go directly to development initiatives supported by Aga Khan Foundation Canada, such as health care, education and rural development. These programs help people help themselves by giving them hope and restoring their quality of life and livelihoods through sustainable solutions.

So far, we’ve raised more than $50-million to support long-term programmes in Asia and Africa. The funds raised by the Walk enable AKFC to attract additional support from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and other developmental organizations. Aga Khan Foundation Canada is a not-for-profit, non-denominational development agency established in 1980, and it operates in 13 countries around the world.

Form a team and give back to the global community by participating in this fun and effective event - it's a great cause!
